Majestic rice fields in Yunnan
Yuan Longping, the Father of Hybrid Rice in China, highly praised that Yongsheng County of Yunnan is a paradisefor rice. Yunnan’s rice, especially “Six Outstanding Rice Species” are characteristically unique. Rice fields in Yunnan not only offer a visual feast for the tourists but also a food carnival for their taste buds.

A cultural journey in Heiyudong Village
We started from the market of Weimo Township by car and arrived at Heiyudong Village within half an hour. It had just rained. When the car turned on to an asphalt road from the expressway, we felt the moist and fresh countryside breeze blowing on our faces. Under the smoky blue sky, with rolling hills along both sides ofthe road and the mountains disappearing from view one by one, like strokes on Chinese ink paintings fading away.

Jin Yongcai
The inheritor of the craft of silverinlaid blackcopperware
Unlike the noisy main streets, the Institute of Silver-inlaid Black Copperware seems to be an island of tranquility in the busy town, when only the pounding from the busy-working craftsmen can be heard. The institute consists of two parts with one displaying the wares of silver-inlaid black copperware and the other isused as the workshop for the manufacturing of wares. Jin Yongcai has created a brand called “Master Jin” with focus on the cultural inheritance as well
as product R&D, manufacturing and sales related to the craft of silverinlaid black copperware. Up to 2013, sales of craftworks of silverinlaid black copperware have exceeded RMB10 million.

Peng Tao: Shelter my soul
Passing through lanes and streets in Luoping and walking along rugged mountain roads, we approached the front of this inconspicuous architecture at night. We opened the side door, passed the surrounding rocks, lit up a candles, and sat down cross-legged. With the ethereal music, the stretching tranquil night view unfolded with dark green mountains and glittering lake. Climbing up and down the huge rock and crawling into the foyer, we were embraced by immense quiescence and heard from deep down the call of our soul.
