Yunnan people have various nick names for azaleas and rhododendrons: mayinghua , yingshanhong or manshanhong. These are just a few names for the beautiful flowers that carpets the province’s mountains and valleys. But it turns out that bright red is not azaleas’only color, a fact which is particularly true inYunnan where many varieties of azalea boast a range of colors that is second to none.
云南人爱把杜鹃叫作马缨花。马樱花是杜鹃花的一种，大红色，开时满山遍野红得很热烈，还有映山红、满山红等别名。其实，杜鹃花不仅仅是大红色的，特别是在云南，其色彩之缤纷让很多花卉品种望尘莫及。

Incomplete statistics show that most of the existing statues of Avalokitesvara Acarya are relics of the Dali Kingdom (937 - 1253). To date, 22 Acarya statues, made of puregold, gold-gilt or copper-cast, have been found around the world. Rare and valuable treasures, these statues have been collected by major museums.
据不完全统计，留存至今的阿嵯耶观音多为大理国（公元937 年—1253 年）时期的遗物，全世界目前发现的阿嵯耶观音造像约有22 尊，纯金、鎏金、铸铜等质地均有出现。阿嵯耶观音造像是弥足珍贵的国宝级文物，被世界各大博物馆珍藏。

Shadow Puppetry, also known as “Lantern Shadow Play” or “Cowhide Puppet Drama”, is performed with delicate cowhide puppets and manipulated with bamboo sticks that cast their characters’ moving silhouettes on paper screens. Over China’s vast area, the leather puppets vary widely from place to place, Yunnan Tengchong Shadow Puppetry along with Shaanxi Shadow Puppetry stand out with wide reputation.
皮影戏，俗称“灯影子”“皮戏子”，简单说，就是依靠灯光照射牛皮雕刻出人物剪影，用竹棍操纵角色动作来进行表演的戏剧。中国地域广阔，各地的皮影都有自己的特色，闯出名气的，除了陕西的皮影戏，云南省腾冲市的皮影戏也榜上有名。

Born 21st January 1996 in Belo Horizonte, southeast Brazil, as Monica Cunha Da Silva, Shi Moli spent three years studying in Kunming, learning Mandarin, Chinese culture, hosting, painting and other skills. From a foreigner who knew nothing about Chinese, Shi became a“Kunming girl”who enjoyed rice noodles and Sichuan hot pot, and led a enriched and colorful life in Kunming.
施茉莉是巴西人，1996 年1 月21 日出生于东南部城市贝洛奥里藏特，本名莫妮卡·库尼亚（Monica Cunha Da Silva），曾在昆明一所学校就读3 年，在这里学习中国文化、汉语、主持、画画等。从一个不会讲中文的外国人，逐渐成为爱吃米线、川味火锅的“昆明女生”，施茉莉的昆明生活丰富而精彩。

Xinping, the hometown of Huayao Dai, is hidden away among the lush green bamboos. With aprivileging source of bamboo, locals use various types of bamboo strips to weave craft wares such as baskets, dining tables, mats and dustpans.
花腰傣之乡新平，村寨掩映在翠绿的竹林中，利用这样得天独厚的资源，当地村民以苦竹、甜竹、绵竹、金竹等为主，巧手编织出了谷箩、背箩、畚箕、提篮、簸箕、篾桌、篾垫等生活用具。

Around Junzi Mountain in Shizong County, Qujing City, roasted chicken and beautiful scenery are major local preoccupations. Ahead of each weekend, Liu Yabang, proprietor of Mulian Mountain Villa situated in Xiaofakuai Village at the foot of Junzi Mountain, gets orders from far and wide, selling over 120 roast chickens a day when business is at its peak.
曲靖市师宗县菌子山，除美景外，还有另一样让人牵挂回味的东西——烤鸡。周末还没到，菌子山山脚下的小法块村木莲山庄的刘亚邦就已经收到了来自各处的烤鸡订单。忙时，他一天能卖出去120 多只烤鸡。
